Agents of the National Police have arrested a 36-year-old man in Valencia as the alleged perpetrator of the crimes of counterfeiting currency, vehicle theft, against road safety and attack.

The investigations began thanks to citizen collaboration, in the early hours of the past day one, when several people observed how a man introduced a motorcycle into a home in the Tres Forques neighborhood.

Thanks to the license plate of the motorcycle, it was possible to verify that it had been stolen during the night, so investigations began to locate the house exactly, which was finally centered and its inhabitant, a man with numerous antecedents and known to the investigators.

The agents carried out a search of the house, in which the stolen motorcycle was found, in addition to locating 830 counterfeit bills, 288 of 10 euros and 542 of 20 euros.

As the suspect was not at home, investigations continued to locate him, detecting his presence that morning when he approached his home on another motorcycle. When the agents stopped him, he fled at high speed through the streets of the neighborhood, in the opposite direction and getting on the sidewalk, until he was caught up and arrested, offering great resistance.

With the bills found at the detainee's home, steps were taken, noting that all the 20 euros had the same numbering, as well as the 10 euros among themselves.

It was found that at the national level, there were 453 reports related to a 10-euro bill with this numbering and 521 reports regarding 20-euro bills.

In February 2020, with the intervention of a bill of these characteristics, the Bank of Spain, qualified as "this forgery must be considered dangerous". Meaning that the last intervention with a bill from this consignment was on May 31 in a store in that district. The detainee, with numerous police records, has gone to court.
