A confidant of the royal family claims: Prince Harry "maybe a little too in love": what Queen Elizabeth II should have worried about

Gyles Brandreth is a British presenter and radio announcer who is quite close to and worked with British Royalty. It wasn't until early 2022 that the announcer recorded a poetry podcast with Camilla, now the Queen of Consort. On November 29th his book entitled "Elizabeth: An Intimate Portrait" will be published.

The British news portal "Daily Mail" has already published some passages of the document in advance. Gyles Brandreth tells, among other things, about the beginnings of the relationship between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Queen Elizabeth II is said to have been enthusiastic about the breath of fresh air she brought to the royal family and saw great hopes in Markle that she could make a good contribution to royal public life.

The Sussexes' departure from the royal family was said to have been painful for the Queen, according to Brandreth, but she didn't show it. Even after the wayward couple's explosive interview with Oprah Winfrey that caused a worldwide furore, the Queen is said to have said only "that TV nonsense" but worried about Prince Harry's overall well-being.

The British author first met Prince Philip at a charity event in 1970, and the two are said to have hit it off immediately due to their humor and quick wit. In his book he also says that the Queen's husband felt that the Sussexes' departure from the royal family was "not right". "It's a big mistake to only think about yourself... If you think it's all about you, you'll never be happy," the late Prince Philip reportedly said. And Queen Elizabeth II is said to have had concerns that Prince Harry was "perhaps a little too in love" with Meghan Markle.
