What pensions rise with the new government measures and when can they be collected

The anti-crisis plan announced by Pedro Sánchez this Saturday contemplates a 15% rise in pensions from July 1 to December 21, 2022. However, this increase is not applicable to all.

According to the Official State Gazette (BOE) published this Sunday, the measure will be applicable to non-contributory retirement and disability pensions. The 15% increase will be based on the amount that corresponds to each beneficiary in those months.

The non-contributory retirement pension is the one that can be accessed by people aged 65 or over who have resided in the country for at least 10 years, and who have not contributed enough to Social Security.

According to Imserso data, the average of this pension is 421 euros, so in this case they would rise by about 60 euros per month (360 euros by the end of the year).

The extraordinary increase will not apply to non-contributory pensions, since for these the Government has established other aid such as 200 euros per month for low incomes.

To finance this increase, the Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migration has increased its budget for 2022 with a credit supplement amounting to 208 million euros.

As explained by the Government and repeated by Sánchez on Saturday, these measures have been approved to respond to the economic and social consequences of the war in Ukraine and thus deal with situations of social and economic vulnerability that have resulted.
