The Red Eléctrica group will be renamed Redeia, as has just been announced by its president, Beatriz Corredor, after the shareholders' meeting held this morning. Your ticket on the Stock Exchange will go from REE to RED.

The new name refers to "network, electricity and technology", as explained. Likewise, the new Rediea group will maintain the current brands, such as Red Eléctrica (Spanish electrical system), Reintel (fiber optics), Hispasat (satellites), Redinter (international) and Elewit (innovation), underlined the CEO, Roberto García.

This has advanced that the new mechanism that will limit the price of gas for electricity generation "will not pose any technical problem for the company."

Corredor, for his part, has said that the electricity supply is guaranteed for this summer.

Red Eléctrica de España was born in 1985 and was the first TSO (Transport and Operator) in the world.

It currently manages 49,000 kilometers of power lines, has some 2,000 employees and enjoys enormous international prestige.

In March of last year, the Compañía Logística de Hidrocarburos (CLH), the former Campsa, also changed its name and was renamed Exolum.
