You and sports

Let's put the priorities in the right place. Keeping resolutions from January 1st makes no sense, and the chances of success are almost nil. Think about it!

The day after a series of parties, after overeating, in the cold, in the snow, all punctuated by physical and mental fatigue, this is not the time to undertake demanding changes. It will not work.

When is the good time? It is now.

A simple walk

Finally the heat, the good weather and the very green and beautiful nature offer themselves in the background to play sports, loosen the muscles and even tackle the small bulges.

A simple daily walk will change your life. Most municipalities split the budget in four to develop parks and trails and it's free, it's up to you to go running, to "pitch" the ball, to pass you with a soccer ball or even than playing Frisbee. Come on, get outside. It seems to me that we have had enough of being compulsorily confined, cloistered.

At your fingertips

Go buy yourself a bike. Not obliged to choose the electric gadget at 2000 piasses. A good bicycle... used if necessary.

Discover your neighborhood like you've never seen it before. Not the Tour de France, there. Just a nice, gentle walk spying on your neighbors.

Otherwise, discover Montreal and its countless trails and corners simply by renting a Bixi on a Saturday afternoon. You will get used to it.

It's beautiful sport on TV, but it's so wonderful to feel that we are doing good to our body while having fun. Reconnect with this extra pleasure of taking a good shower after sweating. Then your cold beer will be better than ever.

The universe is yours, jump into it. Would you like to spend five hours on a golf course? Go spend an hour or two in a practice field.

Bold? Try the kayak, we rent them on several beaches of our rivers.

Go fishing. For example, near Saint-Lambert, there are plenty of people casting their lines from the shore and they catch yellow perch and even walleye.

Observe, there are plenty of places to treat yourself to a nice picnic with family or friends. Now that we all have a device in our cell phone, take the opportunity to take beautiful photos of your loved ones, and even your dog.

Get informed, I'm sure there are plenty of tennis courts available and for very little close to your home.

A gift

Do you like sports ? Make it. Go at your measure, according to your abilities, but give your body a gift. All you're missing is a little self-kick in the ass to get started. I know you are tempted. You will never regret it.

Patios and terraces are all well and good, but you have to earn them.

And, yes, walking is a sport.
