Heidenheim: Drunk bites police officers in the hand

After a fight in a restaurant in Heidenheim an der Brenz, one of the rioters bit a police officer's hand. He also spat on the officers and tried a headbutt, the police said.

The 34-year-old and his 29-year-old brother smashed the inventory of the restaurant early on Sunday morning and attacked the guests for reasons that are not yet clear. They overpowered the two drunks and held them until police arrived. "While the 29-year-old allowed himself to be arrested without resistance, his brother decided to take the fight to the police," the police said in a statement.

Two officers were slightly injured. The older brother suffered a laceration on his head and remained in the hospital for the time being. His transport to the hospital was only successful after the emergency doctor had sedated him. The 29-year-old spent the night in the detention cell.
