A fire at the DS Smith company, located in the Palencia town of Dueñas, has burned a large number of paper, cardboard and other materials in the factory warehouse since early yesterday afternoon, although the incident has been controlled during the night thanks to the intervention of the volunteer firefighters of the Diputación, coming from various parks in the province, without regretting personal injury.

The flames have been concentrated in several packages stacked outside the bin, according to sources consulted by Ical, which is why the company's own fire-fighting system was also put into operation.

From the Diputación de Palencia they have confirmed that the volunteer firefighters are still present at the point with refreshment work, since they have carried out relays between the parks of Venta de Baños, Paredes de Nava, Ampudia, Baltanás.

Even so, it will be assessed late in the morning if they continue with their work or withdraw.
