High mountains. Serre Chevalier: Works in the Granon-Galibier passes. Traffic disrupted

Under construction are the passes from Granon (RD 224) to Saint-Chaffrey, and Galibier (RD 902) towards Monetier-les-Bains within the Serre Chevalier Valley. These two passes will be used next July by the Tour de France. It is vital that both the riders and the vehicles using them are safe. Although the Department doesn't redo roads for the Tour de France, the goal is maintenance and prevention to avoid costly and irreversible situations. The Tour offers perspectives on the programming of roadworks. We can begin from the principle of what is done is not to be repeated," Marcel Cannat (vice-president, Department in charge of roads), said in a press release.
