The handball team of SV Union Halle-Neustadt remained without a win in their fifth Bundesliga game. Coach Katrin Schneider's protégés lost on Saturday at TuS Metzingen by 25:30 (14:17). While the hosts made it into the secured midfield with their second win of the season, the Halle team slipped down to a relegation zone after their fourth defeat. Dagmara Nocun (8) and Rebecca Rott (7/7) contributed significantly to the success of the hosts. Cara Reuthal (5), Madeleine Östlund and Edita Nukovic (4 each) scored the most goals for Halle.

The guests started the game furiously and were up 8:2 after ten minutes. But the clear lead didn't give the women from Halle the necessary security. Before the break, the women from Saalestadt gambled away this clear lead and even fell behind by three goals. The hosts made the preliminary decision at 23:16 (42nd). The guests, who missed three seven-metre throws, repeatedly failed because of Metzingen's outstanding goalkeeper Lea Schupbach (17 saves).
