Most of the sales of undeveloped building land in Berlin took place in Marzahn-Hellersdorf last year. The prices were lowest there and highest in Berlin-Mitte. However, according to the Berlin-Brandenburg Statistical Office, a comparison with previous years is not possible due to the redesign of the survey. In 2021, 386 sales of undeveloped building land were recorded in Berlin and 5059 sales in Brandenburg.

According to the authority, 32 percent of all sales of building land in Berlin were in the Marzahn-Hellersdorf district. A square meter there costs an average of 530 euros, which is the lowest. With almost 18 percent of sales, the second largest share was in the Pankow district. According to the authorities, the fewest cases were counted in Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf and Mitte. The highest average purchase value was 9567 euros per square meter in Mitte, followed by Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf with 1823 euros.

Undeveloped building land in Berlin costs an average of 1260 euros per square meter. In Brandenburg it was 113 euros. In total, around 393,000 square meters were sold in Berlin in 2021 and around 11 million square meters in Brandenburg. This means that properties worth 495 million euros in Berlin and 1.2 billion euros in Brandenburg changed hands, as the office announced on Monday.
