Marius Kusch won the second medal for the German Swimming Association (DSV) at the short course world championships in Melbourne.

The 29-year-old won bronze in the 100m butterfly. In 49.12 seconds he stayed just three hundredths of a second above his German record. The South African Chad le Clos became world champion.

Previously, Angelina Köhler had narrowly missed out on a medal in fourth over 100 meters butterfly. With 56.20 seconds she set a German record. She remained three hundredths of a second below her previous best time, which was only set on Saturday. Canadian Margaret MacNeil swam the world record in 54.05 seconds.

Another German record was set by Anna Elendt. The bronze medalist in the 100m breaststroke finished fifth in the 50m but finished in 29.30 seconds, 0.22 seconds off her previous record time.
