Firefighters work this Saturday to extinguish a forest fire declared this noon in the municipality of Tuéjar (Valencia) and that has forced the activation of situation 1 of the Special Plan Against the Risk of Forest Fires (PEIF), due to the proximity of facilities agricultural and livestock.

The fire started around 2:00 p.m. and, at first, it was declared a vegetation fire, as reported by the '112CV' Emergency Coordination Center through its social networks.

Two units of forest firefighters, two fire engines, an aerial unit, a coordinating foreman, a district chief and three fire prevention units have been mobilized to the site.

At around 2:40 p.m., situation 1 of the PEIF has been decreed and, to the initial means, another forest firefighter unit, a helicopter transport unit from the Generalitat, a fire engine and another air unit have been added.

PEIF alert level 1 is established when an emergency situation caused by one or several forest fires can seriously affect forest assets or slightly affect the population and assets of a non-forest nature, for the extinction of which it may be necessary to incorporate extraordinary means.
