€14m: Chelsea before signing Brazilian talent

Chelsea are close to signing 18-year-old Andrey Santos from Vasco de Gama.

Santos has caught the attention of Chelsea FC and Paris Saint-Germain with his impressive performances in Brazil's Serie B in 2022.

He has scored a remarkable eight goals in 33 games, playing in his side's midfield. Santos has already been compared to Newcastle star and compatriot Bruno Guimaraes.

As reported by the Evening Standard, Chelsea are in advanced talks over a midfielder move in January and are closer to a deal than PSG. A transfer fee of 14 million euros is under discussion.

New owner Todd Boehly is keen on bringing talent from abroad to the club early on and has encouraged academy leader Neil Bath to finalize the deal.

As part of that strategy, Chelsea are also interested in 16-year-old Palmeiras prodigy Endrick. The striker has scored three goals in three appearances for Palmeiras but Chelsea face stiff competition from European heavyweights PSG and Real Madrid.

The French champions are the only club with whom concrete transfer talks are in progress, according to the player's father, but the first offer was rejected by Palmeiras, who are asking for a transfer fee of €60m.
