Sörensen is coming back: The actor and director Bjarne Mädel (54) and his team are shooting again on the North Sea dikes. The sequel to the successful film adaptation of "Sörensen is afraid" is currently being made there.

Filming for the second case of the chief inspector, who never gives his first name, began this week in the Friesland and Wesermarsch districts. This was announced by the Norddeutscher Rundfunk on Thursday in Hamburg. Mädel takes over the leading role again and is the director. The sequel entitled "Sörensen catches fire" is expected to run in 2023 in the first and in the ARD media library.

According to the information, Katrin Wichmann and Leo Meier are still there than Sörensen's colleagues Jennifer and Malte. Newcomers are the actors Luise Heyer, Karoline Eichhorn, Lina Beckmann, Edita Malovčić, Liv Clasvogt, Joachim Meyerhoff, Michael Maertens and Godehard Giese.

The film "Sörensen hat Angst", which has won several Grimme Awards, is based on the novel of the same name by Sven Stricker. He also wrote the screenplay for the sequel. In it, Sörensen not only has to do with the demons of his anxiety disorder after stopping the medication. He also has to investigate the case of a disturbed, malnourished and blind woman. In doing so, he encounters "a network of murder, religious madness and well-kept secrets," as the NDR further announced. The first broadcast of "Sörensen hat Angst" was watched by 3.44 million viewers in January 2021.
