New video from Montecito Villa: Here Prince Harry pays tribute to a US soldier

Prince Harry (39) has appeared in a new video that shows him in his home villa in Montecito, California. In it, the husband of Duchess Meghan (42) honors his “friend” Elizabeth Marks (33) with the “Soldier of the Year” award.

In the clip, Harry is standing in the backyard of his luxury home in his adopted home of the USA, according to "The Sun", wearing a black suit and a red tie. He has four military medals from the British Army pinned to his jacket - although his military titles were also revoked when he resigned royally in 2020.

In the video, he describes Elizabeth Marks as a "beacon of inspiration." According to an official statement from the Sussexes, the 33-year-old joined the US Army in 2008 at the age of 17. She suffered bilateral hip injuries during a deployment to Iraq, but continues to work as a combat medic and Paralympic swimmer.

Harry met Marks himself at the Invictus Games in Orlando in 2016, where he presented her with "not one but four gold medals that she had won in swimming," said the son of King Charles III. (75).

The Sussexes' website further quotes Harry as saying: "Ellie courageously overcame every obstacle that came her way." She turned her pain "into a goal and showed with compassion and willpower that the impossible is actually possible."

The next Invictus Games will take place in Vancouver and Whistler, British Columbia, Canada in 2025. For the first time there will be the winter sports of alpine skiing, snowboarding, biathlon, cross-country skiing, skeleton and wheelchair curling. Harry is patron of the Invictus Games, which he himself launched in 2014.
