The President of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, held a working meeting this Sunday with the Minister of Finance, Arcadi Spain, the Minister of Territorial Policy, Rebeca Torró, and the Autonomous Secretary of Public Works, María Pérez, in which has addressed the position of the Autonomous Executive on the future of the Valencia 2007 Consortium.

At the meeting, the Generalitat's roadmap was agreed, which aims to turn the Valencia Marina into a regional port, within the network of ports already managed by the Consell.

In this sense, the Marina meets the conditions to be part of Ports de la Generalitat, since it has "its own access entrance and is completely separated from the commercial activity that takes place in the Port of Valencia".

Based on this decision, the Generalitat will defend this Monday at the meeting convened by the president of the Valencia 2007 Consortium, support for the City Council's proposal that "the consortium be dissolved, which will imply the appointment of liquidators, and relevant audits.

The will of the Valencian Executive is that the administrations that have been in the consortium (40% Government of Spain, 40% Generalitat, 20% Valencia City Council) participate in the entire liquidation process and its results.

Thus, the Government led by the socialist president Ximo Puig is in favor of negotiating with the City Council a new consortium for the comprehensive management of the Valencia Marina. Last Friday, the Consell agreed on the appointment of the new Minister for Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility, Rebeca Torró, second vice-president of the governing council of the Valencia 2007 Consortium, replacing Arcadi Spain, now Minister for Finance and the Economic Model.

The Valencia 2007 Consortium is the body made up of local, regional and central administrations created to transform part of the port area in order to host the America's Cup and is currently responsible for the management and operation of La Marina.

The will of the Consistory is that this body is dissolved and that a new entity is also in charge of this last purpose. This situation occurs after the central government assumed most of the debt contracted to execute the works required to hold the international sailing competition and in accordance with the established statutes and the commitment assumed by the Spanish Executive in this regard.
