The 5th Provincial Council Photography Contest focuses this year on popular festivals

The provincial photography contest organized by the Diputación de Toledo celebrates its fifth edition in 2022 and in this case it is dedicated to the popular festivals of our towns, to disseminate and publicize these manifestations and celebrations, which mark the character of our municipalities and define their deep-rooted traditions.

The provincial photography contest organized by the Diputación de Toledo celebrates its fifth edition in 2022 and in this case it is dedicated to the popular festivals of our towns, to disseminate and publicize these manifestations and celebrations, which mark the character of our municipalities and define their deep-rooted traditions.

The Provincial Council, through the San Clemente Cultural Center, once again organizes this photographic contest, in collaboration with the Photographic Association of Toledo (AFT), which each new edition seeks a significant motif of our towns and cities to highlight different aspects of the province of Toledo.

This edition of the provincial photography contest, dedicated to popular festivities, seeks to disseminate the best photographs of the celebrations of our towns, whether of a patronal nature or of another type, but significant in terms of their nature, which will be captured in the objective of the photographers and photographers who choose to participate and select the chosen parties.

The period for submitting photographs is now open, and will remain open until October 14, in a contest that will award the prizes of previous editions, set at 600 euros for the first classified, 400 euros for the second and 200 euros for the third, as well as a diploma and a set of books for the three winners.

The provincial photography contest has increased its participation every year, due to the excellent reception received by amateurs and professionals since its first call, in 2018, coinciding with the 'Melque Year', in which the 50th anniversary was celebrated. of the acquisition of the Historic Site of Santa María de Melque by the Diputación de Toledo.

That year there were two modalities: individual photography, in which 37 works participated; and a series of 3 photographs, in which 7 works participated.

In 2019, the second photography contest was held under the title 'Castles of the province of Toledo' in which 262 works corresponding to 95 people participated. In 2020, it was dedicated to 'El agua', registering a participation of 301 works corresponding to 107 people. And in 2021 the Photography Contest "Square of the province of Toledo" was held, with the participation of 145 photographs.

All interested parties can now submit their snapshots based on the information they will find at the URL: https://www.diputoledo.es/global/61/1630/5934, while to send them they must do so in a compressed file to email sanclemente@diputoledo.es.

The many amateurs or professionals in photography have a new opportunity to participate in this provincial photography contest, which in just five years has established itself in the artistic panorama of our province.

Respecting the central theme of the call, the photographs presented must be individual, original and unpublished authorship, accepting the digital edition, although its manipulation, elimination or addition of elements foreign to the captured image is not.

All photographs must be taken within the territory of the province of Toledo, and the author must indicate the location where each image is taken. The contribution of this information is essential to be able to participate in the contest.

For its evaluation by the jury, the participants will send the images in JPEG format, with a weight between 2 and 10 MB per photograph. Subsequently, if necessary for printing or dissemination, an image with higher resolution or a different format may be requested from the authors.

The photographs will not be signed or watermarked and their content will not be contrary to the right to honor, personal and family privacy or the image of people. The authors are responsible for complying with this point. All photographs will be selected for their technique and artistic quality.

The deadline for submitting the photographs will end on October 14, 2022, with the jury making its decision on November 4 at the San Clemente Cultural Center and proceeding to the award ceremony on the day and time indicated well in advance.

Depending on the quantity and quality of the photographs presented, the organizing entities of the competition reserve the possibility of rewarding all the participants with the organization of an exhibition, which could be exhibited in the premises of the Diputación de Toledo or in any another space that is considered by either of the two convening entities.
