According to the Society for the Protection of Forests Against Fire (SOPFEU), 106 fires have been fought across Quebec by municipal firefighters or those of SOPFEU since the ban came into force. Nine of them are still active.

“SOPFEU would like to take a moment to thank the vast majority of people who respect the ban on making open fires. That being said, the period is really very conducive to the outbreak of wildfires, ”wrote the organization on its Twitter page.
