The Government has "been and continues to be interested" in the acquisition of the Vicente Aleixandre Archive for its custody and conservation in one of the Spanish cultural institutions, although it acknowledges that for the moment it is "unfeasible to express itself in any way" regarding this purchase due to to the ignorance "for certain" of the content of the legacy.

This is stated by the Executive in a written response collected by Europa Press to the question of several Vox deputies regarding the current situation and possible acquisition of this archive, which could have 1,500 documents and more than 1,000 letters belonging to the Nobel Prize-winning poet of Literature.

The Government explains that since 2008, the State has carried out a follow-up "by various means" to try to find out the content and situation of the documentary collection of the Spanish Nobel, once the request of Amaya Aleixandre (niece of the author) was made public. ) before the Court of First Instance of Majadahonda (Madrid) to recover that legacy.

There was also the breaking of the sale agreement reached by the Bousoño-Crespo couple, the owners of the poet's personal archive, with the Provincial Council of Malaga and the Ministry of Culture of the Junta de Andalucía, for an amount close to five million euros.

In October 2021, its owner (Ruth Crespo, widow of Carlos Bousoño) even suggested in an interview with ABC the possibility that the Archive could be acquired by businessman Amancio Ortega.

«Despite the undeniable importance of the poet's legacy, very little is known for certain about its content, except for what was published by Carlos Bousoño in an article in 'La Nueva España', in which he carried out a kind of inventory succinct of the same", lamented the Government.
