Government leaders and heads of state around the world have spoken out in the wake of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. In a statement by Chancellor Olaf Scholz (64), which can be read on Twitter, among other things, it says: "We mourn the loss of Queen Elizabeth II. She was a role model and inspiration for millions, including here in Germany. Her commitment to German- British reconciliation after the horrors of World War II will not be forgotten. She will be missed, not least her wonderful sense of humour."
French President Emmanuel Macron (44) also paid tribute to Elizabeth II, calling the Queen a "kind" monarch and a "friend of France". Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau (50) said, according to the BBC, that Queen Elizabeth was "one of his favorite people in the world": "I will miss her so much."
