Normally, supercars like the Lamborghini Huracan advertise their superb performance and superb handling on racetracks. It may come as a surprise why the Sterrato is now becoming a pseudo off-roader, because not only has its ground clearance been increased by 4.4 centimetres, but the front and rear axles are also given a track that is around three centimeters wider. The drive of the mid-engine athlete is well known, because the Lamborghini Sterrato is also powered by a 5.2-liter ten-cylinder naturally aspirated engine that delivers 449 kW / 610 hp and a maximum torque of 560 Nm. Will a customer ever want to disappear off-road with this 4x4 athlete? Hardly - there are also significantly better cars at Lamborghini. After all, the Urus is also a real bestseller.

But as with the Porsche 911 Dakar, there is a trend that such vehicles can easily be sold to collectors and fans at handsome prices. Like the Porsche 911 Dakar, the Lamborghini Sterrato is only available in a limited number - but at least 1,499 vehicles will be produced from February 2023 and distributed among the off-road-hungry Lamborghini disciples. "With the high-speed concept for all surfaces of the Sterrato, we have combined the driving experience of a real super sports car with the driving pleasure of a rally car in a unique way," explains Rouven Mohr, Chief Technical Officer of Lamborghini, "Lamborghini vehicles always deliver emotions, and the Sterrato reaches a new level of thrill when driving.” A car that hardly anyone has missed, but which can shine with an undeniable advantage: it differs from the vast majority of other sports cars. And since many customers today are primarily concerned with being different and standing out, there is hardly anything standing in the way of the success of the all-wheel drive Sterrato in the coming year.

The fact that the driving performance is worse than the comparable Huracan Evo due to the changed design and the potential area of ​​​​application will hardly bother the customer, because even with an image spurt from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of a surprisingly low 260 km/h you can stand out in this design. In addition to the increase in ground clearance and the widened track, there is an aluminum underbody protection at the front, reinforced rocker panels and a rustic-looking rear diffuser and chubby wheel arches. The well-known air intake on the rear bonnet not only underlines the look, but also ensures that the engine is supplied with clean air on dusty slopes.

If a customer does get lost on an impassable track, a locking differential on the rear axle, carbon ceramic brake discs and special off-road tires in size 235 / 40 R 19 at the front and 285 / 40 R 19 at the rear help to ensure that the inexperienced off-roader does not gets stuck at the first pothole. With run-flat technology, the Sterrato can drive around 80 kilometers to a safe area in the event of a flat tire. The interior of the rustic Huracan brother presents itself in the well-known noble Lamborghini design with Alcantara upholstery.
