Breaking News: Judgment in the Kusel police murder: the main defendant must be behind bars for life

The young policewoman and her colleague didn't stand a chance. On a night patrol, they wanted to check a suspicious van that was parked on a remote district road in the western Palatinate. A few minutes later the two were dead. Shot. Almost exactly ten months to the day since Kusel committed the crime.

The district court of Kaiserslautern has now made its judgments in the trial of the deadly headshots and the main defendant Andreas S. was sentenced to life imprisonment for murder on Wednesday. The court saw it as proven that the 39-year-old shot dead two police officers during a traffic stop in January. The co-defendant Florian V. was convicted of aiding and abetting poaching, but refrained from punishing him.
