The OCU warns of an important security flaw in the Seat León and Tarraco of the last two years

The OCU has echoed an alert from the EU non-food hazardous products system (RAPEX) about a fuse failure in the Seat León and Tarraco models. This problem could cause a short circuit, with the consequent risk of fire and therefore an accident.

The OCU estimates that some 17,500 vehicles -15,000 León- marketed in Spain between September 2020 and January 2022 could be affected. In principle, those affected by the fuse failure will receive a call from the manufacturer to resolve the problem, which must be resolved free of charge and as soon as possible.

In the event that the affected vehicle has been purchased through a sales contract, OCU advises owners to make an appointment with the manufacturer to solve the problem. The company's recovery code is 93N9.

In any case, the organization denounces the lack of quality controls in the manufacturing process of many manufacturers and considers it "a common problem in many brands and that is very worrying" when it is related to car safety.
