The spokesman for the Popular Party in the Leganés City Council, Miguel Ángel Recuenco, will preside over the Congress of the popular people of Madrid, which will be held on the 20th and 21st in pavilion 6 of Ifema. A conclave in which Isabel Díaz Ayuso will be elected as president of the PP in Madrid.

This election confirms Ayuso's commitment to support the PP of the municipalities in the southern part of the Community of Madrid, as also happened with the election of José Manuel Zarzoso, spokesman for Parla, to be part of the executive committee led by Alberto Núñez Feijóo . One of Ayuso's objectives for the upcoming elections is to conquer the largest possible number of mayors in the southern zone, revalidating the political success of the last regional elections where he won in all the Madrid municipalities, except two.

The congress will be attended by all the regional presidents, led by Feijóo, and it is expected that a significant number of regional presidents of the PP will also travel to Madrid.

Although there is still no official program on the development of the congress, on Friday, the opening day, the intervention of the general secretary of the PP, Cuca Gamarra, is scheduled; and the outgoing regional secretary, Ana Camins, to present the management report. In the afternoon a table will be held with the regional presidents. The mayor of Madrid, José Luis Martínez-Almeida, will also take part.

Ayuso will present his new team on Friday and then the names of the leaders who will accompany the president of the Community of Madrid in this new stage will be known. Today there is only one safe name, that of Alfonso Serrano, as secretary general. The structure will be smaller, with fewer deputy secretaries and each person will occupy a single position, with a PP "much more active, close and participatory with the militancy."
