The gas price brake is the central element of the German government's €200 billion "defense shield" in the energy crisis. It was the commission's task to submit proposals for the precise structure. The Commission also evaluated options for cushioning price developments at European level. The report was handed over by the three chairmen: Veronika Grimm, the business wise man, Siegfried Russwurm, President of the Industry, and Michael Vassiliadis, Chairman of the Mining, Chemical and Energy Industrial Union.
