Football: positive things at the annual meeting of 1. FC Kaiserslautern

At the annual general meeting of the second division football club 1. FC Kaiserslautern, those responsible had a lot of positive things to report. During the round event on Sunday, the actions of the members of the Management Board and Supervisory Board for the 2021/22 financial year were approved by a large majority. The meeting also confirmed Daniel Stich and Hans-Peter Briegel as members of the Supervisory Board. The members chose Michael Schultheiss, Patrick Buchmann and Thorsten Lill as possible successors to the committee.

As the board announced, the club has reached an all-time high in membership in recent months. At the beginning of the year, FCK still had 16,900 club members, meanwhile there are around 22,500. After the insolvency of the outsourced corporation in 2020, FCK e.V. still has very high liabilities of around six million euros, but was able to but generate a surplus of 411,000 euros.

"If we continue to stay hungry, humility and the collective live like in the preliminary round, then we will lay the foundation for a successful time," said Kaiserslautern's managing director Thomas Hengen with an outlook on the second half of the second Bundesliga. "We have to confirm the good first half of the season." The newly promoted team from Rhineland-Palatinate finished the first half of the season in fourth place.
