A woman slipped into a crevice while hiking in the Palatinate near Eppenbrunn and had to be freed by the fire brigade. As the police in Pirmasens announced on Wednesday, the 68-year-old from Baden-Württemberg was out and about with her dog on the Altschlossfelsen on Tuesday. She slipped and was then no longer able to climb out of the crevasse on her own.

The fire brigade rescued the hiker with the help of a ladder. The woman suffered a back injury that she wanted to take care of herself.
