Helen Mirren (77) and Liam Neeson (70) were lovers in the 80s. Even today, the 77-year-old has great feelings for the action hero. In an interview with the fashion magazine "AARP", the screen icon raved about her ex-partner. "I still feel a very deep love for him today. He's just such a great guy," said the Oscar winner.

The two met while filming the film Excalibur, which was released in 1981. The Hollywood stars were in a relationship for almost five years, until 1985. During their relationship, Liam Neeson didn't have to worry about his clothes. As Helen Mirren revealed, she was passionate about sewing at the time.

"All my partners had to get a shirt I made myself... I made one for Liam". In addition to the action hero, her ex-boyfriend Peter O'Toole (1932-2013), her current husband Taylor Hackford (77) and other friends were able to enjoy a top made by Helen Mirren.

"We loved each other. We weren't made for each other, but we really loved each other," the actress reflected on their relationship. But Helen Mirren is not wistful. She has been married to filmmaker Taylor Hackford for almost 25 years. Liam Neeson was married to fellow actress Natasha Richardson from 1994 until her death in 2009 and they had two sons.
