McLaren Boss Zak Brown for sure: Daniel Ricciardo is well worth the money

There are no official figures about how much Daniel Ricciardo 2021 will earn at McLaren. It is clear, however, that the Team from Woking is use the services of the Australian quite a lot. Because, at Renault, the salary of the former Red-Bull-pilot was the year after all, at around 25 million euros.

Now, should have signed Ricciardo also because of the better sporting perspective in Woking. In vain he is not driving but surely for McLaren. Zak Brown does not reveal how much Ricciardo is there to earn. The McLaren Boss makes it clear in an interview with 'Sky', however: "He's worth it, otherwise we would not have made it!"

"What [has been written about its possible content], is not accurate. But he is a very well-paid racing driver," says Brown, and declared: "I think he is worth the money. He has won seven Grands Prix. In the right car, I am convinced, he can immediately win a world Cup. He is extremely market well."

"From a commercial point of view, it is a very exciting driver. The combination of him and Lando [Norris] is going to be fantastic - you are one of the favorites of Fans, both on and off the track. For us, it is on our planned path, an important step to have a Grand Prix winner in the car," Brown says.

Ricciardo drove between 2014 and 2018, five years for Red Bull, where he was able to win seven races. In 2019, he moved to Renault, where he held, however, on the championship nine. His best result was a fourth place in Monza was. In 2021, he moved on to McLaren, where he is the successor of Carlos Sainz, who goes to Ferrari.
