2021 Mr. Olympia Friday Report -- Fitness, Figure, Women’s Physique and Ms. Olympia Wellness

Officially, the biggest weekend in bodybuilding is now.

2021 Mr. Olympia Friday Report -- Fitness, Figure, Women’s Physique and Ms. Olympia Wellness

The 2021 Olympia is finally here after weeks of preparations, updates, and developments. The Friday Morning Pre-judging session, Oct. 8, 2021, was the start of the competitions in Orlando, FL. Sixteen of the eleven divisions were present on the stage for the judges. They are:

Fitness Olympia

212 Olympia

Figure Olympia

Women's Physique Olympia

Ms. Olympia

Wellness Olympia

Pre-judging is important for competitors as those who place higher in the preliminary round can carry that momentum into the Finals. This is how each division looked at the Orange County Convention Center.

Fitness Olympia

The first round in Fitness is the physique round. The first round of Fitness is the physique round. Competitors will be wearing a two-piece suit. The athletes will then prepare for their routines by comparing their performances.

One-third of the overall score is determined by their Fitness pre-judging round. The judges test the competitors after initial introductions and numerical callsouts.

Although the callouts are ordered from left to right, athletes want to be at the center. That is where the leaders of each team stand. The leaders of each group will be determined by the athletes who are in the final callout. The current champion Missy Truscott is, along with Whitney Jones and Ariel Khadr, are the leaders. Jaclyn Baker is also in the final callout. But, there is no guarantee -- routines can change everything.

212 Olympia

This one is a big hit with fans. Although these 19 men aren’t as large as the Open competitors they are intense and fierce in competition. Due to George Peterson's sudden death, the 212 Division is markedly different this year.

Pre-judging was dominated by Shaun Clarida, the defending champ, and Kamal Elgargni (2019 Olympia winner). Derek Lunsford arrived at this contest in the most fit of his life. Each callout was intense and all of the men were given the chance to shine. At the end of the showdown, Clarida and Elgargni were the top three. Each man was allowed to place in the middle for comparisons. This is a three-way toss up.

The Figure division is a mix of Women's Physique and Bikini. They have an athletic appearance and a strong physique. Although they may not be able to do the same poses as men, these competitors are equally skilled in presentation and posing.

Cydney Gillon is the strong favourite, but there are 20 other competitors who want to stop her making it five times. Natalia Soltero was also a competitor at the final. They were accompanied by Stephanie Gibson and Jessica Reyes-Padilla.

Women's Physique Olympia

This lineup of competitors had their game face at the Meet the Olympians event, which took place on the evening Oct. 7. This contest could be the most close of the whole weekend. Although the women in this division may not be as large as those in Women's Open, they will need to show similar symmetry, condition, and well-developed muscles.

Champion Sarah Villegas wanted proof that her win in 2020 was not a fluke. Every athlete hoped that Villegas would be there at the end, as Villegas was standing next to Shanique Grant who had retired. Pre-judging was a success because of the enthusiasm of Natalia Abraham Coelho's fans. Villegas and she were at the centre of the first callout.

Ms. Olympia

Last year, there was a lot of anticipation for the Ms. Olympia return. Fans are eager for more, and these women are ready to deliver.

Wellness Olympia

The inaugural Wellness Olympia is unknown. Fans are eager to see what this new division will bring, just like the Ms. Olympia 2020. This division has no favorites, so anyone can create a lot of momentum once the pre-judging is over.
