Creative pastime: Coloring books for children: How to encourage young artists

When painting, children can calm down and concentrate on a creative task. The process not only demands and promotes your child's creative abilities, but also motor skills. The latter especially helps children who do not yet go to school to learn how to hold a pencil correctly with colored pencils. This can be helpful in preparation for writing exercises at school. In addition, coloring books offer a lot of room for imagination and so it is as little surprise as desired when the elephant is painted green and the cat blue. Below you can find out which coloring books are available for children.

There is a large selection of different coloring books for children. Personal preferences play just as important a role in the choice as age group. There are coloring books for toddlers, school children and even adults. The following applies to children: The smaller and more detailed the motifs to color in, the older the child should be. On the other hand, the little ones can color in simple, large shapes more easily. The same applies to the choice of pens. Thicker children's crayons or wax crayons work better for children under the age of four. From the age of four, the coloring book can then be more elaborate, because precise and orderly coloring is then increasingly easier for children.

Books with shapes and motifs are considered classic coloring books, but there are alternatives. Children who can already read numbers also enjoy "painting by numbers". To do this, rows of numbers must be connected in order to then be able to recognize the motif. This can then be colored to your heart's content. Adults can now also expect a large selection of different "paint by numbers" versions.

Children often have favorite characters from movies and television. Coloring their favorite protagonists is therefore a nice pastime. There are numerous coloring books for children dedicated to various series and films. For example, the children's series "Paw Patrol" is currently popular and the matching coloring book could be a nice gift for little fans of furry friends.

Drawing is not the same as painting, but the two are closely related. There are practical books designed to teach children how to draw step by step. By the way, this doesn't only apply to children, adults who always wanted to learn the basic steps have just as much fun with drawing books.
