Stock exchange in Frankfurt: Dax overcomes 13,300 points

Positive indications from the USA and Asia boosted the German stock market on Monday. The Dax continued its strong week-end and gained 1.67 percent to 13,307.27 points by midday. The MDax for medium-sized stocks rose by 1.82 percent to 26,168.91 points, while the leading eurozone index, the EuroStoxx 50, rose by 1.5 percent.

"The fact that the Dax closed above the psychologically important mark of 13,000 points on Friday outshines all risks and stress factors and inspires stock market traders with new courage," commented portfolio manager Thomas Altmann from QC Partners. The "hawkish comments of the central bankers" - that is, those who advocate a tight monetary policy - left stock investors surprisingly cold.

Among the individual values in the Dax, Hellofresh, Henkel as well as Volkswagen and Porsche came into focus. Regarding Hellofresh, retailers pointed out that on Saturday a US agency issued a health warning for certain packets of minced meat in Hellofresh meal kits that were shipped in July. The paper of the cooking box supplier lost 2 percent as Dax tail light. After the big expiry date in two weeks, the share must also leave the leading German index and be included in the MDax.

The values in demand in the Dax included the paper of the VW investment company Porsche SE with a plus of 2.7 percent and the VW preference share itself. It rose by 2.2 percent. Lutz Meschke, CFO of the sports car manufacturer Porsche AG, told the Italian daily newspaper "Il Sole 24 Ore" that Porsche AG wanted to be ready for the planned IPO "as soon as possible" because investors were very interested.
