Emmanuel Macron has the intention, on the proposal of the Prime minister, Edouard Philippe, to appoint Claire Hédon, president of ATD Fourth World, as a rights defender, in replacement of Jacques Toubon, announced on Monday the Elysee.

Jacques Toubon, who was minister of Justice from 1995 to 1997, must retire from office at the head of the independent authority at the end of July, after six years of mandate.
