The Diputación de Alicante will pay two and a half million euros for the Plan for the rehabilitation and enhancement of the Municipal Historical Architectural Heritage of towns with less than 75,000 inhabitants in the province, the largest investment in history in this matter.

The deputy for Architecture, José Ramón González de Zárate, has highlighted the importance of this investment "fundamentally aimed at protecting and consolidating assets that, in some cases, require urgent action, in addition to their advanced state of deterioration, for reasons of security". This was explained during the presentation of this program, together with the director of the Area of Architecture, Rafael Pérez.

The plenary session of the Diputación has approved this aid package that contemplates allocating up to 500,000 euros per municipality and will take into account, among other criteria, the number of inhabitants, the relevance of the property, the level of urgency, the technical quality of the proposal, as well as its scientific and cultural interest.

In addition, applications whose actions generate economic, cultural and social activity as a motor to reactivate the local economy, promote and generate social cohesion, and for their value in the identity and idiosyncrasy of the municipalities will also be valued.

The deadline for submitting applications to benefit from the Provincial Plan will be 15 days from the day following its publication in the BOP and must be formalized through electronic processing.
