The third and penultimate day of the ILCA 7 Spanish Championship, which is taking place at the Puerto Deportivo Juan Montiel, has begun with the visit of Juan Francisco Martínez, Director General of Tourism for the Region of Murcia. With the aim of promoting the sports tourism plan from the Regional Government, Juan Francisco has toured the port facilities, talked with the participants and highlighted that 'it is very positive for the Region of Murcia to consolidate the warm coast as an ideal setting to host major sporting events and be a regatta course of great international renown'.

And although it seemed to be hard to get, finally a 105 wind that oscillated between 5-6 knots of intensity has provided sufficient conditions for the fleet to add three new tasks.

Some tests where the sailors have had to face the continuous ups and downs of pressure and the many roles that were marking the regatta field.

With these three new tests, the global count reaches six completed partials and the discarding comes into play. Ricard Castellvi (CN Cambrils) takes the lead in the general classification after signing a first and a third in the last two partials of the day.

Behind is the Argentinian Agustín Vidal, who after winning the last race has come back and has reached the second step of the general classification. And closes the top three Gonzalo Suárez (CN Altea) who remains in bronze thanks to the regularity obtained throughout the championship.

Carlos Roselló (CN Ibiza), who went out to sea provisional leader, has not managed to secure this first place and descends to the fourth step in the general classification. He closes the top five Pep Cazador (CN s'Arenal) after sentencing his best day.

Along with the national fleet, in the regatta field we find international sailors from Argentina, Portugal and Ukraine. The ANDJM has wanted to invite Andreii Verdish, a Ukrainian sailor who was installed in Puerto Sherry, so that he can enjoy and compete in this event.

‘I am very grateful to the organization for inviting me to come. It is a great port to navigate, the hotel is very good and the conditions are perfect” says Andreii Verdish.

And the day ended, like every day, with a meal on land, courtesy of the Juan Montiel Nautical-Sports Association for sailors and the organization to regain strength.

A marina with idyllic facilities for the enjoyment and comfort of the participants

With this regatta, the Juan Montiel Nautical-Sports Association is positioned, once again, at the epicenter of dinghy sailing by hosting a highly relevant competition within the national nautical scene. A port that, moreover, is one of the favorite destinations for sailors to compete, since on the one hand, it has idyllic facilities for the enjoyment and comfort of all the participants and, on the other, it offers treatment and a welcome that makes athletes feel at home throughout their stay.

‘This nautical base allows us to attract any type of sporting event because the athletes are housed a few meters away. They also have a restaurant and sports facilities that are fully predisposed. We always try to offer our best services and we try to take great care and pamper everything related to sailing so that all sailors leave satisfied' Juan Francisco Montiel García, president of the ANDJM.
