Out of control, the flames devour the houses of the wealthy coastal town of Laguna Niguel in California. The fire consumes the roofs and ends up invading the entire structure. Helicopters drop water to try to control the embers. At the moment 20 houses would have been completely destroyed, but there could be many more. There are also at least 80 hectares burned and hundreds of families evicted. Fortunately no one has been injured. California is experiencing a historic drought and dry brush fanned by winds from the ocean have caused this overwhelming image. A large cloud of smoke dyes the city sky an apocalyptic orange color that terrifies the residents. It is not the most serious fire that California has suffered, but it is spreading very quickly.
