Aaron Carter (1987-2022) is dead. The US singer was found dead in the bathtub of his home in Lancaster, California, around 11 a.m. (local time) on Saturday (November 5). The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department confirmed this to the US gossip portal "TMZ".
According to the report, the police were immediately alerted. So far, there is said to be no evidence of a crime. Further details on the cause of death are unknown.
Carter's fiancee Melanie Martin has since confirmed his death in a statement. "My fiancé Aaron Carter has passed away. I love Aaron with all my heart and it will be a journey raising a son without a father," she is quoted as saying by TMZ. The family are asking for privacy "as we come to terms with the loss of someone we love dearly. We are still coming to terms with this unfortunate reality."
Aaron Carter had battled drug and drug addiction for years. Backstreet Boy singer Nick Carter's brother, 42, went into rehab again in September after child welfare services threatened to take custody of his son away from him.
Little Prince was born in November 2021. Aaron had an on/off relationship with his mother, Melanie Martin. Discussions between the two have repeatedly been publicly held on social media.
