Russia expels two employees of the Finnish Embassy in Moscow

MADRID, 17 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Russian Government announced on Tuesday the expulsion of two employees of the Finnish Embassy in Moscow for its sanctions against the country and its "confrontational stance" after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, "including the delivery of weapons to the regime of Kyiv".

The Russian Foreign Ministry has said that it has summoned the Finnish ambassador in Moscow, Antti Helanterya, to inform him of the decision and has stressed that "it is unacceptable that these two diplomatic workers continue as part of the staff of the Embassy of Finland".

He has also charged Helsinki with "covering up the crimes of Ukrainian nationalists against the civilian population in Donbas and Ukraine," according to a statement published by the Foreign Ministry through its website.
