RTL show: Dance off for a "Let's Dance" legend and nasty change for the next episode

In the fifth episode of "Let's Dance" on RTL (also on RTL), ten celebrities were allowed to whirl across the TV floor with their dance partners. The jury awarded full points twice. But by far the biggest surprise came at the end of the episode - and it had nothing to do with the performances shown.

For the first time in the history of the RTL dance show, all participating celebrities will be assigned a new partner for the coming edition, as the moderation duo Daniel Hartwich and Victoria Swarovski announced. Means: The existing dance couples who found each other in the first show in February will be temporarily dissolved. The shock of the bad news was written all over the face of some of the participants, but after Easter the celebrities and their previous partners are allowed to compete again in the usual way.

The dance evening was opened by "Kneipenkind" and actress Chryssanthi Kavazi with Vadim Garbuzov. It was obvious that she enjoyed an upbeat Charleston to "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun." It was "fun, fun, fun, fun" to see them dance like they do today, judged Jorge González. His jury colleague Motsi Mabuse was able to agree with this for the most part and even Joachim Llambi was quite gracious overall. There were 23 points for the dancing couple.

Sharon Battiste had expressed concerns during training, but on Friday evening she was glad that she had completed the quick step with Christian Polanc. The actress took "two steps back" compared to the previous week, said Llambi. Accordingly, the jury awarded 19 mediocre total points. Ex-handball player Mimi Kraus meanwhile dropped 23 points with Mariia Maksina. "Strong man, very soft," Hartwich commented after her contemporary, and Mabuse also found the performance "very emotional."

The juror was then able to follow what she believed to be the best dance to date by YouTuber and entrepreneur Sally Özcan, who proved herself with a Charleston alongside Massimo Sinató and 22 points. The extremely good-humoured star chef Ali Güngörmüs only got 15 points with Christina Luft and his "special samba", but their high entertainment factor still led to calls for "encores" from the audience.

The mentalist Timon Krause and "Let's Dance" favorite Ekaterina Leonova took viewers on a "romantic journey" according to González with a Slowfox. He has a musicality that is difficult to learn - 24 points. Anna Ermakova, who celebrated her 23rd birthday while training for the show on March 22, then performed impressively in her role as the favorite of the current season.

The daughter of tennis legend Boris Becker and model Angela Ermakova showed a quick step with Valentin Lusin that caused the audience, in which her mother was also sitting, to erupt in storms of enthusiasm. "For me there was no better quick step in 'Let's Dance'," enthused Mabuse. Along with a slightly belated serenade in the studio and a hug from mom, there were 30 points. "Incredibly good Quickstep," said co-moderator Victoria Swarovski. Joachim Llambi would have given 20 points alone if he could. In addition, the 58-year-old said to Anna Ermakova: "Maybe we'll see that your dad, who's definitely watching, will come too."

With twitch streamer and entertainer Jens "Knossi" Knossalla, a pronounced entertainment talent followed. The heated audience also celebrated the Charleston with his "kindergarten teacher" Isabel Edvardsson. Very good 26 points, including eight from the often quite critical Llambi, made him cheer as if he had just won the entire show: "Llambi, eight!"

Another impressive performance was shown by YouTuber and actress Julia Beautx together with Zsolt Sándor Cseke. According to González, she showed good development with her Paso Doble and Mabuse had the feeling that she was leaving everything on the dance floor. The former gymnast Philipp Boy was able to top the 25 points achieved with a contemporary. As Patricija Ionel's dance partner, he couldn't have behaved better on the floor, as the jury noted. He also secured full points with 30 points.

After the sometimes outstanding performances, it was foreseeable that Knossalla, Ermakova and Boy, among others, would have no problems getting through to the next round. With Güngörmüs, Battiste and Özcan it was a little different. Despite her best performance so far, the entrepreneur and dance partner Massimo Sinató did not make it into the next show, which RTL will then show again next Friday, March 31, from 8:15 p.m.
