Presenter: Laura Karasek becomes the new host of the "NDR Quizshow"

Laura Karasek follows in Jörg Pilawa's footsteps and takes over the moderation of the "NDR Quizshow". The 40-year-old will start with the new task this year, as the Norddeutsche Rundfunk announced on Friday in Hamburg. On December 28th, 10.30 p.m., she should go on the air with a big celebrity special.

"I love quiz shows, I've always liked to take part as a candidate or just guessed at home. It was always my big dream to moderate a quiz show myself," said Karasek according to the announcement. It is a great honor to be the host of this traditional show.

According to the information, the "NDR Quizshow" applies in addition to "Who wants to be a millionaire?" as the longest-serving quiz show in Germany. It was the first regional quiz on German television 22 years ago. Before Karasek, the program was moderated by Ludger Abeln, Carlo von Tiedemann, Alexander Bommes and Jörg Pilawa.

Pilawa said goodbye to public television this year and is now presenting again on his old home broadcaster Sat.1. With the channel change, the 57-year-old wanted to get "out of the comfort zone" again. According to Pilawa, the farewell was fair and appreciative. At the moment, on Sundays at 9.45 p.m., pre-recorded programs with Pilawa as moderator are still running on NDR.

Laura Karasek is the daughter of the literary critic Hellmuth Karasek (1934-2015). She spoke about her father in the Vox series 7 Daughters.
