Nobles: King Charles has 14 horses sold to the Queen

King Charles III sells 14 horses of his deceased mother Queen Elizabeth II. The auction house Tattersalls, which specializes in racehorses, told the BBC on Monday that the mares were broodmares. Among them are Just Fine, who was the first horse to win a race for Charles at the beginning of October, and Love Affairs, two particularly well-known animals.

The company emphasized that this does not mean the end of royal horse breeding nor is it an unusual step. "They sell horses every year," Tattersalls spokesman Jimmy George said. "You can't keep them all." The Queen, who died on September 8, was an avid breeder and is said to have owned around 180 horses at last.
