Anyone who has been involved with electronic pop music a little in recent years and has not gotten stuck with Ultravox or New Order has been accompanied part of the way by the voice of Karin Dreijer Andersson. Although "accompanied" is the wrong word here. Her organ, her vocal modulations – from gentle lullabies to fevered dirges and whispered melancholy – aim straight for the gut and nestle at the sore spots of the heart. A somber sister to Björk and Kate Bush.
