Thursday morning, a 12-year-old cyclist run down in Zahrtmann's Runddel on the island of Bornholm.

He did not stop to help the young girl, however, fled from the spot.

Vagtchef Jesper Lund from the Bornholm Police explains that the car is not in compliance with its rights of way and turned in, while the girl continued to run.

"I can say so much, that there has been something serious. She has knocked off its knees," he says, and continues:

"It is a companion to a witness, who gathers her up and runs her to the emergency room."
