A truck lost fuel on the busy Autobahn 3 near Montabaur, causing hours of obstruction. The 39-year-old driver of the truck had to swerve to the right in a construction site on Tuesday evening because an overtaking vehicle cut him, the police in Koblenz announced on Wednesday. The right-hand tank of the truck tore open on a crash barrier and diesel ran out.

To clean the roadway, the A3 had to be completely closed in the direction of Frankfurt and one lane in the direction of Cologne. The cleaning and repairs to the crash barrier continued into Wednesday morning. According to the police, there were significant traffic jams, especially on the nearby A48 from Koblenz. The police are now looking for witnesses to the incident.
