Vereschuk warns that negotiations with Russia on Azovstal may "not satisfy everyone"

MADRID, 14 May. (EUROPA PRESS) -

The Ukrainian deputy prime minister, Irina Vereschuk, warned this Friday that the negotiations that Ukraine is having with Russia to release the soldiers who remain inside the Azovstal steel plant, in Mariúpol, could "not satisfy everyone".

This was communicated by Vereschuk in a message on his Telegram channel, where he reminded Ukrainian citizens that "there are no miracles" in war, and that instead "harsh realities" are verified, for which a focus is necessary "sober and pragmatic".

"The heart of the country is now Azovstal. In addition to Azov, there are our Armed Forces, the National Guard, the Border Guard, the Police and fighters of the Security Service of Ukraine. I share the anxiety and emotion of the defenders of the steel company" , the Ukrainian deputy prime minister has expressed.

Vereschuk has warned of the importance of not exaggerating the influence that world leaders are having in the negotiations to evacuate the military from Azovstal, since "if this influence were adequate", there would never have been a war.

"There is an order from the president: do everything possible and impossible to get our people out of there (...) Our task is to get our boys out. Everyone. Alive," he added in his Telegram profile.

In recent days, Ukraine has tried to negotiate with Russia the departure of Ukrainian soldiers with the help of the UN and the International Committee of the Red Cross.
