One house was lifted into the air by the tornado that ripped through New Orleans' suburb and dropped onto the street with a family.

Neighbors reported that the parents of a little girl ran out of the wreckage, screaming for help. Their daughter was now stuck in an enclosed room because she was on a breathing device.

Chuck Heirsch stated to The Times-Picayune / New Orleans Advocate, that he called 911 after he saw Prosperity Street neighbor trying to reach his daughter.

They were screaming. His wife was in a state of shock. Heirsch stated that they were already traumatized by the 'Wizard of Oz" ride.

"All the men from the area ran to the house. They brought her to me by the mother. Nerissa Ledet said that she held her hand. I tried to console her. "I tried to console her.

Firefighters arrived quickly and took her in a blanket. Guy McInnis, President of St. Bernard Parish, described the rescue and said that she is now in a hospital and "doing fine".
