The public prosecutor's office has demanded life imprisonment for a 27-year-old man who is said to have murdered his parents and sister in Rövershagen (Rostock district) in February last year. The accused had insidiously and brutally wiped out his next of kin and acted coldly and without empathy, said senior public prosecutor Thomas Peters on Monday in his plea before the Rostock district court. The prosecutor also demanded that the degree of guilt be determined, which would virtually rule out early release from prison after 15 years.

The 27-year-old German is said to have killed his 52-year-old father, his 25-year-old sister and four days later his 48-year-old mother with a crossbow and a garden machete in his parents' home in Rövershagen in February 2022. Two weeks later he is said to have buried the bodies in self-made coffins about ten kilometers away in a field near Roggentin (Rostock district).

During interrogations, the accused admitted to the crimes and stated "hatred of everyone" as the motive. In court, however, he retracted his confession through his lawyer. A psychiatric expert recently came to the conclusion that the 27-year-old was fully culpable. The trial began on November 15 last year, and the verdict is expected next week. (Az: 13Ks 93/22)
