Popular Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan has sustained chest injuries while filming a sci-fi film. "Yes, painful...with movement and breathing," the 80-year-old actor wrote on his blog Sunday. "Will be a few weeks, they say, before there is any normalization."

After a visit to the hospital in the city of Hyderabad, he was flown home to the Bollywood metropolis of Mumbai, where he is resting. The shooting of the film "Project K" has now been postponed for the time being.

He now has to lie down a lot, needs painkillers, wrote Bachchan, who is also known as "Big B", has acted in around 200 films and is one of India's most popular actors. He is also a producer, has worked as a politician for many years and at times hosted the Indian edition of the show "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?"

Bachchan also wrote that he is now unable to meet fans as usual, who have been coming to his house on Sundays for decades. Most recently he wrote: "Everything else is good."
