Pore-deep cleaning: make-up eraser: reusable alternative to make-up removal

Commercial facial cleansers contain chemical ingredients that reliably remove even waterproof make-up from the face and décolleté. However, make-up removers in plastic bottles are at least as harmful to the environment as cotton pads used to apply lotions or facial tonics. So why spend a lot of money on expensive cosmetics when there are also skin-friendly alternatives to removing make-up - which also produce significantly less (plastic) waste and are completely free of chemicals? The make-up eraser, for example, cleans deep into the pores and can be used again and again. And that is just one of many advantages.

The make-up eraser is available in three different versions: as a make-up removal cloth, pad or glove. But regardless of which variant you choose - the functions are always the same:

Before use, the make-up eraser must be held under running water and wrung out to moisten it and clean your face with it. While the short-pile side is used to remove make-up, the long-pile side acts like a kind of peeling to cleanse the skin down to the pores. Do not apply too much pressure during the treatment, as the make-up eraser effectively cleanses the skin with just a gentle application. If waterproof mascara is difficult to remove, it is also important to hold the make-up removal cloth under warm water and place it on your closed eyes for a few minutes. As a result, the waxes contained in the mascara can be removed better and, above all, more easily from the eyelashes.

And another tip: the make-up removal cloth should go into the washing machine after three to five uses at the latest, the pads even after the first, but at the latest after the second treatment. The Glove variant, on the other hand, can be used two or three times in a row before it has to be cleaned to a maximum of 40 degrees (like the other models).

First and foremost is the environmental factor: you produce significantly less waste if you do without conventional cotton pads, which end up in the garbage after a single use. In second place is the cost factor: the reusable make-up cleanser saves you a lot of money in the long term for commercially available facial cleansers. The other advantages include the following two: 1. Due to its low weight and small size, the make-up eraser fits in every toiletry bag and 2. all three variants are hypoallergenic and therefore suitable for every skin type.
