A fire in an empty family home in Schönberg (Northwest Mecklenburg district) caused around 30,000 euros in damage on Saturday evening. The police said it was being investigated on suspicion of arson. A witness heard a loud bang around 9:20 p.m., noticed the glow of fire and alerted the fire brigade. In the meantime, residents had to evacuate surrounding buildings. At around 12:30 a.m., firefighters called it off.
